February 2017 Athlete of the Month

Greenfield Central’s Madison Wise has been selected as Shelbourne Knee Center High School Athlete of the Month for February 2017.  You can watch Madison will receive her award at halftime during 2/16/17 Thursday night’s Pacers game when they take on the Washington Wizards. Game time is 7 pm on Fox Sports Indiana.

Madison has a 4.2 GPA and is ranked 15/340 academically. She’s president of her class and is involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Leaders To Go, Senior Class Council, Student Council, Peer group leader, GC Rage, Hancock County Youth Board, Park Chapel Christian Church, National Honor Society, and received the Principal’s Leadership Award in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.

Madison is a 4 year varsity basketball player and some of her additional achievements on the court include:

1 of 5 in the history of women’s basketball to score 2,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds
Hancock County All time leading scorer (girls or boys)
School record for most points in a game (42)
School/County record for most blocks in a season/career
School/County record for most rebounds in a career

On the track, Madison clears the hurdles

Madison has been on the Track team 2 years, and made State meet both years. She is the school record holder for the 100 and 300 hurdles. She also played volleyball her freshman, sophomore, and junior years, setting the school record for most blocks in a season and most blocks in a game.

A five star recruit according to espn.com, after she graduates, Madison will play basketball for Iowa State.
